Why? Because No One Stopped Me

People often ask the question why? Why did this happen? Why did he/she do, or not do this? Why does this keep happening? Why doesn't this keep happening?, etc. Great questions! Perhaps this tale can shed some light on the answers.

Many, many years ago in the dawn of wisdom of humanity stood the Great Pyramids in Egypt in all of their glory and power. However, one thing was missing: a king. Years before, the king had lost his wife and child during birth. He was heartbroken and sad. Not long after their death, he died as well. He had not appointed his successor and with no children, the throne stood empty.

One day from out of the desert, a man appeared riding his camel. He rode into the city and ended up in front of the great pyramid. He dismounted from his camel and walked into the pyramid. He led his camel and stepped into the throne room where he saw the empty throne. He looked around and saw that no one was around. He stepped up to the throne and sat down. Suddenly, two guards appeared in the room. They stepped up to the man. One guard asked the man: "Who are you? Why did you sit on the throne?"

He replied, "Why? Because no one stopped me! I am your new king, now bow before me!"

His camel laughed!

The Golden Donkey

One day, a man decided to move, so he packed up all of his belongings. His most valuable possessions were bars of gold which he placed into a sack on the back of his Donkey Dumbass. He and Dumbass began the journey to their new home. Along the way, they passed through a very steep valley. Near the top of the valley, the man lost his balance and fell to his death. Dumbass was left all alone with the gold on his back. He wandered around for a while finding no one. Finally, he walked down to the bottom of the valley where he found a pack of wild donkeys that were very skinny and dirty. The donkeys were eating grass and standing around. They spoke about Dumbass amongst themselves: "Look he seems well fed, what's he doing down here in our valley? Doesn't he know that he has a shinny load of gold on his back? He doesn't know he's a golden donkey and he's here in this useless valley with us mules? The poor golden donkey, he doesn't know where he belongs."

Ask yourself: Am I a wild donkey eating grass, or am I donkey carrying gold?
